Foreo Bear vs Foreo UFO 2

Let's be honest, Foreo is not the most affordable brand on the market. And considering that they make some of the hottest skincare devices, it's easy to forget all adulting lessons, whip up the cards, and scream, "Take my money!".

Foreo Bear relies on microcurrent and T-Sonic technology to stimulate skin regeneration and repair and improve contours and overall complexion. The UFO 2 adds heat, cold, and LED light therapy to the T-Sonic pulsation massage. Its main purpose is to increase the absorption of skincare products and boost the effectiveness of sheet masks. The device can also be used for instant cooling and depuffing, melting clogged sebum in pores and removing blackheads, treating acne-prone skin, calming inflammation and irritation, etc.

If you have known me for a while, you know that I think that Foreo stuff is amazing. I understand why they are priced so high, as well as I understand that most people can't afford to just mindlessly go on a shopping spree. This is why I want to pin their best-rated treatment gadgets against each other this time.

Though I think that both Bear and UFO 2 are the bee's knees, I understand that some of you will have to choose between them (whether which one to purchase or which one to purchase first). So, let's see what makes them special and different from each other, and which one is perfect for you.

If I Have a Luna 3, Do I Need All These Other Devices?

Foreo Luna 3 is a great multitasker. The massage head at the back of the device is a treatment feature that can help your skin absorb skincare products better. It can also help de-puff and improve your complexion through lymph drainage. Still, it has its limitations.

Luna 3 is a great starting point when you start building your routine but, as you will see, there are ways to improve on the original concept. Both Bear and UFO 2 have additional features that make them unique and more effective.

The Bear is a true stand-out in the field of home-use microcurrent skincare devices. Not only is it truly capable of delivering pro-level results, but it combines microcurrent with T-Sonic technology for a unique and multi-faceted treatment. And with 5 intensity levels, you can use it for anything from gentle therapy to targeted repair.

However, the best feature of this device is the smart anty-shock system. It consists of advanced sensors that work throughout the treatment to measure your skin's response to it. It's currently the only at-home device capable of automatically adjusting the current level based on the feedback it gets from your skin.

The device is released with Foreo's hydrating serum called Serum Serum Serum, but it can work just as well without it. Just make sure that you prep your skin with another water-based product first.

Did you know that every 1 degree Fahrenheit of excess heat in your face means you lose 5% more collagen than usual? And did you know that saggy skin is little more than vertically stretched-out pores? So, as long as you keep your pores clean and closed, and you don't lose too much collagen, your face will not look like it's melting.

Here comes the UFO 2. Originally, the idea behind this device was that it's going to be a smarter way to use sheet masks. But if you take a step back, you can see that it can do so much more. For example, you can secure a plain muslin cloth to the device and use it on the hot setting while cleansing with oil or a balm. Or whip it out on a hot day to cool your face on the fly.

As for the original purpose, UFO 2 works with the brand's masks as well as most sheet masks. You can even use it over regular serums and essences if you want to boost their absorption. T-Sonic pulsation will already contribute a lot in that aspect, and you can go an extra step while turning on the heat and light.

I'll keep it real, there's not enough light nor does the treatment last long enough for you to experience the full benefits of light therapy. If you were to get it done professionally, you would be exposed to a big lamp for at least 10-15 minutes. However, I reckon that using the UFO 2 every day for a month can catch up to the effectiveness of that treatment. To me, this is not the best selling point of this device, but it is a great bonus. Plus, it's a great way to experience these benefits without dropping hundreds of dollars on regular treatments at a salon, or four figures for a setup that you can use at home.

• The accompanying masks are actually well-formulated and come in a range of options.

Cons

• The LED lights are too small and the treatment doesn't last long enough for you to get the most out of them.
• It's a bit difficult to keep clean.

The Final Showdown

If you're on the younger side, UFO 2 may be a smarter purchase. Not only because it gives you more bang for your buck, but also because regular use can postpone the need for microcurrent treatments. Even if you are on the more mature side, I would recommend getting the UFO first. You would be surprised how much of a natural facelift you can achieve with some smart pore care and advanced hydration.

But if you want a device that can get you results "on the go", then the Bear is a better fit. It literally shocks your skin into being healthier with no need for additional serums and masks.
