The Merula Cup is the result of well over 5 years of continued effort from company founder Merle-Marie Forstmann. After first hearing of menstrual cups in 2011, Forstmann became fascinated with the idea and delved deeper into the world. After years of research and feedback, Merula launched its cups in the year 2017 with a unique design that contrasted with most traditional brands.
The Merula Cup is very different at first glance but this unique design comes with its own set of benefits. Designed to be a "one size fits all" alternative its round design makes it a comfortable fit on most bodies while providing a larger capacity than other alternatives in the market. Despite the shape, it remains easy to insert and its stem is designed to be adaptable, all to provide superior comfort. A larger alternative is also available in the form of the Merula Cup XL which offers a capacity of up to 50 ml, one of the highest numbers in the menstrual cup market.
